I'm tempted by the horribly over-sweetened but extremely yummy Dubai pistache choc bars
Why do they put them on display by the caisse ???

Financial dilemma
And me! I generally buy Lindt chocolat, although for a long time I bought Côte d'Or pâte d'amande noir which has now disappeared from U. IMO, France, Switzerland and Belgium are the pays de choc
although my Dublin cousins keep sending me Dub chocs, as though the French had no idea.
The only thing I've bought in UK or Ireland (airports) in recent years have been plain choc Bounty bars, seemingly unavailable here.
So, following the consensus, I've bought a box of cherries in cognac chocs and a box of After Eights, which'll keep me going for a few days.

There's a Jeff de Bruges choc shop in Saint Malo ... expensive but nice for a treat. Even better is Pascal Pochon, who is THE top as regards tasty chocs.
@ Mad : There's a Comptoir Irlandais here where we buy our tea and occasionally other treats ..... squashed flies and yummy fruit cake !

I was introduced to Lakrids by Bulow some years ago. It’s liquorice centres with a chocolate coating, now available with other fruity or mint coatings.
Made in Denmark, its not cheap, but if you enjoy chocolate and liquorice it’s definitely worth a try.

and I've just spent more that we received on two more treats which are.........a bottle of St Germain fleurs de sureau for me which I love and a bottle of l'acrobate gin for his nibs.....I hope he likes it as I'm not a g&t drinker but could be persuaded I think if mixed with a sparkling wine !
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

We are lucky enough to have Valrhona nearby which is very much for treats. So a stop when passing will be called for before the big C word arrives.
As well as chocolates of various types, they also sell chocolate nibs in something like 20 varieties - mostly single source - for those who would make their own sweets, cakes, puddings and so on. I have seen some UK restaurants declaring that their chocolate desserts are base on Valrhona and many, many moons ago (and before we even thought of moving permanently to France), the Lufthansa in flight magazine declared Valrhona the best chocolate - in their opinion of course.

Mrs. PE enjoys Anton Berg. A wagon wheel sized choc filled with fruit syrup, soft marzipan and a liqueur. I help her eat them too.
