Just been out shopping, been without Phone and internet since Sat PM, now we know why, lots of big trees down all the cables are above ground no mainly on the ground now, some street lights looking like something from "War of the Worlds" face and knee high, about 3/400Mts of replacement cable needed, got "Airbox" running this morning so at least got internet, it was worse than I thought and we are a long way South from the "Eye."

Wet and windy here but normal for the time of year. Last year there was a lot of rain before Christmas (reservoirs full) but from January onwards there was very little so reservoirs started emptying .... fortunately the summer was damp so the plants survived well.

No cranes here, but I saw a fat turkey by the side of the road a couple of hours ago. Hit by a car no doubt.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

We saw a duck hit by a car and when we got to it, it was very dead. It ended up in the pot ......

Back onto the Weather ...... Up here in the frozen north, the temperatures are set to plummet tonight to just above freezing tomorrow with a light breeze from the north. North facing shutters all shut ....
