Commune to the rescue just in time!
Not exactly just in time for me but the commune were are on the ball regarding opening up roads closed by fallen trees.
One of our smaller oak trees had fallen across the road so I managed to push it with my tractor's forks into the wide verge & lopped off a few branches sticking out into the road thinking I'd deal with it later.
This week the commune workers were out in force clearing the trees & mulching branches & this morning were attacking our tree which I thought they'd ignore.
Speaking to the guys working in the rain I offered them coffee in our our barn & got chatting when the subject of our log stock & the two sizes of logs for two different woodies came up.
An hour later I went out to see what they'd done & was pleasantly surprised to see my tree neatly logged up into the aformentioned sizes & all the branches gone

First thing this morning all of the logs had gone. No worries. I've got enough wood cut to last me for another two winters with plenty of trees left after that & best of all it saved me the bother of shifting them.
