The Pope has died

Earlier this morning. Although he looked dreadful on his pictures with Charles and Camila the other day

Not really surprising, he could barely speak for his Easter message. It must have been a huge effort for him to make an appearance.
Unfortunately Popes have to continue being Pope until their dying day so sometimes you see them, like Pope Francis, really struggling to keep going and it leaves a sad image.

Indeed. He looked even worse yesterday, and he had to endure meeting Vile Vance - that was the last straw!

I think it is really undignified for them to continue in such a state. Popes in the past have retired early, the last being Pope Benedict, Ratzinger, because of ill-health.

I think he was very much the exception - 5 since the tenth century according to Wiki.

According to Wiki : "Before the 21st century, only five popes unambiguously resigned with historical certainty, all between the 10th and 15th centuries"

But yes, he was the exception in modern times !
