Financial dilemma

#1 Post by MAD87 »

I noticed yesterday that DWP had paid the Christmas "bonus" for wrinklies. So I need ideas for spending this magnificent €13 on something worthwhile. Bottle of wine? A T-shirt? Packet of Mars bars?

How have you got €13? With the exchange rate at 1.13 we got €11.32 each. so we have a greater problem of what to spend it on. Really it has gone to telethon plus a bit more.

We were so excited to get ours which will remain in sterling until the rate goes up (we can always hope ...).
At the current price of chocolate, it will almost cover our two Lindt advent calendars

@ajm I was a bit surpised at the amount, but maybe someone made a mistake along the line.
I won't give it away as I already donate generously to Restos, Amnesty and various smaller charities. There's always someone worse off. This time I'll spend it on myself, even if it's just some gâteaux from the boulangerie. Just looking for new ideas.
I have 4 children + their partners and 6 grandwhildren, so Christmas has me dipping heavily into my pockets.
@Blaze I've already started buying extra chocs and, um, eating them

I only remember Frank Muir. Norman Vaughn I think did Roses grow on you with a thumbs up at the end ?

Well I have already spent 60% of mine last week. A quick trip to the UK resulted in a tub of Quality Street - aka moderately good avenue - for £6. Last year we were driven to buy from Amazon 26€!! for the same tub - but this year the tub contains 50gm less.
