For large area, I would advise buying bigger and second hand rather than smaller and new.

I tried using one of the tow-behind things maybe ten years ago, identical to the one pictured above. I found it more trouble than it was worth. It cost over two hundred euros back then (!) and I was not impressed. It filled up so quickly I was continually having to stop and tow it somewhere to dump the contents so it ended up extending the mowing time and fuel cost. Unless you detach it and physically manouvre it to the dumping area it becomes a nightmare to reverse into position. I also discovered it was not actually recommended to tow it behind the mower when cutting, possibly for this reason. It was also a bit fussy about wet or dry clippings. After learning its shortcomings I used it only for picking up fallen leaves in the autumn and sold it as soon as I could find a buyer.
