Portable gas fire

#1 Post by hughnique »

I have a problem with one of my on wheels portable gas fires, I assumed it was still under warranty but a quick Amazon check tells me 2021, so past it, "how time flies when you are having fun". It starts up on the ignition and the pilot light stays alight but it wont go on to a proper burner from there, when you turn the knob for a higher setting. What am I looking for to find a workshop that deals with this kind of appliance and the repair of. It was an expensive model with a flame effect, so is probably worth spending a few quid on. TIA

Enough gas? Regulator blocked or oiled up after long period of non-use? Temperature too low - butane won't work below 4C.

Transferred the new gas bottle to another fire and that was OK, I suspect a thermocouple but getting in to it is another thing, why I wanted a repairer.
