Anything to do with Wildlife in France, from insects to birds and moles.Our last UK house was about a mile from the local zoo.
Wind in the right direction we could occasionally hear elephants trumpeting but the peacocks were nearly always audible.
I always thought it was a pleasant,non pervasive sound, but glad we didn't live any nearer.

Screaming Peacocks!
Peacocks do have an irritating sound as do screaming children. Luckily there are no peacocks near here and with only elderly residents within earshot the children are only an issue on the occasional Sunday.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
