Multiple wasp stings

A couple of weeks back I was stung/bitten don't know which but it itched liked mad for some hours leaving a bright red round mark on my leg (no swelling or lump). It was there for almost a fortnight when I thought I'll just pop in the pharmacie and ask for something to put on it having used vinegar/antiseptic spray and finally honey which seemed to do the trick as recommended by a friend who said that's what they use on their horses 🙀. Anyway off I go to the pharmacie. The assistant looks at it with furrowed brows & tells me to sit and wait for the pharmacist. 35 minutes later she arrives (she's being doing boosters) looks at it, prods it, shakes her head, looks more closely and then says in english 'I don't know what it is you had better make an appointment with the doctor. I thanked her politely and nipped across to the bar where OH was waiting with two glasses of wine. "Go to the doctor" - "not on your nelly!" That means a trip to the hospital, numerous tests, probably xrays, pills etc etc - "No not on your nelly" Needless to say the mark has faded to almost not there and I'm still here alive & kicking  However, I can recommend honey externally or internally :D
I would take the advice of the pharmacist even if it will be a pain (proverbial rather than actual).

A red mark like that which does not disappear might just be an indication of a tick bite with the attendant small risk of Lyme disease. This normally presents as a bullseye red ring - but not always. Lyme is easily treated if caught early and very difficult to treat if noted at a late stage.

There are other things that could be indicated by the red spot not disappearing and all of them should be eliminated at an early stage.

I'm allergic so carry a tube of Onctose Hydrocortisone around with me it stops the pain and swelling almost immediately and saves me having to use my injection thingy. 8-)

@exile & @Blaze Thanks to both for your very kind responses. But you see I am pig headed and just will not visit a doctor. I didn't in the UK because I haven't needed to only for those jabs for holidays abroad and when I caught chicken pox aged 33  and only twice since living in France when I knew it was serious. Some months back OH went to the doctor's on my behalf to collect my packet for the usual poo test. He said the receptionist who happens to be the doctor's wife was extremely rude because she could see from the system that I hadn't been since 2015 (detached retina) and before that 2010 and neither had he been since 2006 and she apparently shouted to him were we seeing another doctor - hardly likely when we're in one of those doctor deserts and we only have one doctor. When OH got home he said to me you can go in there next time and collect your packet  Anyhow back to subject, whilst waiting in the pharmacie I was reading & listening to the massive screen that was on the wall giving out a great deal of info re tick bites and did mention it to her but she said no it wasn't a tick bite and having previously checked the NHS site I had no bulls eye effect and it does say that tick bites do not itch so I believed it not to be a tick bite. As said the mark has virtually disappeared now. I've been taking some natural remedies ie honey internally & externally on the mark, cinnamon, ginger & garlic as natural antibiotics and that's after a week of Azeol capsules because when I had a tooth infection (via the cat I believe that jumped onto the bed and stuck her paw into my mouth guess I was snoring!) the night before Christmas Eve the chemist sold me Azeol capsules for bacterial infections until I could get to the dentist and I'm now a firm believer in Azeol. Sorry I've rabbited on a bit........yet again!
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Last week there was a stand in my local gamm vert. The lady was giving out leaflets concerning tiger mosquitoes. Apparently in midi pyrenees they are swarming in abundance. She said their bite is nasty and can cause discomfort for a week.
