Frodo
He's having a down day today. He began by being a bit sick (mostly froth) and then refused the small piece of cheese with his heart tablet in it. So we went straight on to breakfast which he ate pretty well. Since then he's barely moved off his bed. Dreading the blood test tomorrow ......

Will he have to go to the Vet for the blood test ? Or will a tech come to him at your house ? A trip back to the Vet would be so stressful on him.
Can you draw the blood and take it to the Vet ? Some Vets will allow this.
He must be exhausted. Could take a long time for his strength to return.
Plus, he is now eating a new diet. A bit of stomach upset must be expected I imagine.

We have to take him and they'll have the results pretty quickly. I wouldn't trust either of us to know how to take a blood sample so, although a fair suggestion, it's not a possibility. He's certainly had an awful and very stressful week so far. If the results don't show imminent dire risk we shall definitely argue his case for not being re-admitted. We feel he needs the peace and quiet of home, the chance to get accustomed to the new diet (which he is still eating with enthusiasm) and time for the meds to take effect.

Maybe worth asking the vet to 'pop outside' to your car & take the sample whilst Frodo sits on your lap.Veem wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 6:25 pm We have to take him and they'll have the results pretty quickly. That is a superb idea .. so much less stress that way. And ask the vet to remove his white coat as well.L Austin France wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 6:35 pm Maybe worth asking the vet to 'pop outside' to your car & take the sample whilst Frodo sits on your lap.
It's not just we humans who suffer from white coat syndrome.
