Well @exile if it’s SAP. No wonder they have a budget deficit!
I spent years on the periphery of SAP. It was a massive dinosaur which cost a fortune to buy and run.

Can't argue with that.
Edit to add: I spent nearly 2 years customising SAP from a user perspective to fit our new company needs. 2 years I will never get back.

@manonthemoon2 I used the que choisir site. It’s ok but still VERY difficult to make a true comparison. They have over 300 offerings and it only covers mutuelles and not insurance companies like AXA, AVIVA etc

After a lot of reading phoning and thinking, I have narrowed my options down to 2. My current company with a revised offer but lower cover vs a company that specialises in providing insurance to English speakers who have offered a lower but better level of cover.
I don’t have a problem with listening to/speaking French but my OH who is now quite deaf just can’t manage it so finding this option could well be very important if needed.
I had several other bids to look at. The third on my list have contacted me several times, today being the last. I went through the ‘Brit’ bid with them practically line by line. The price was within a fiver. The rep said she couldn’t match it and admitted regretfully that we should go with them. I shall sit on it for the weekend, read it again and make my final decision on Monday. I have managed to reduce the cost by 375 euros pa. I have rejected much cheaper bids because we seem to have so many things going on that they wouldn’t cover very well. OH is very risk averse on the health cover stuff.

Good news
Could you kindly let us know which is the English oriented company please. Like you, my OH - best described as better half - is also quite severely deaf and struggles with any prolonged French conversation. While we are happy with our current offering which is handled through the local office, if anything were to happen to me, excellent though the office support is, I fear BH would struggle.
