Does anyone know how this system works as far as paying and reclaiming for a RDV "en ligne"? It seems you can arrange to talk to a Médecin from your own home but how do they take payment from your Carte Vitale, and then subsequently you get some reimbursement? OH is going to try the system out at our local Pharmacie as this may be easier the first time, for just renewing prescriptions - we haven't had a Doc in our village since last November, and neighbouring Cabinets are not taking on any more patients, so it's getting a bit dire here. :(

In pharmacies the teleconsultation is all done via Carte Vitale. If you go to any MT other than your nominated one you reclaim via the old 'feuille de soins' system. No idea how CPAM are reimbursing people who have lost their MT!

Thanks for that Quiksilver. Unfortunately, on this occasion, OH needed a new prescription for pain drugs for his back problems. Apparently you have to see a MT face to face, in person for that. All nearby Cabinets chocabloc, had a couple of numbers for further afield - nope, they just said Non and hung up.

We're going to try the nearby Maison Medicale where we were patients before - if they still have our details on record, maybe, just maybe, someone can help.

Otherwise, OH is going to be in a lot of pain and unable to function, let alone do any work. :(

Yes, my husband was told the same thing. Luckily, he was able to get in pretty quickly at our MT. I'm sorry your OH is having to deal with this. Finding a doctor taking any new patients around these parts is next to impossible. It is a shame there aren't any walk-in clinics / doctors anymore.

It used to be the case that you could contact your Caisse for help finding a médecin but not any more.
I don’t know if you you find this helpful?

So sorry for your OH, Bayleaf. I've been trying to find a new MT for months without success. If it comes to it, does your local hospital have an A&E department and do they allow you to just turn up? Many have instigated a filter system whereby you have to clear it with SAMU (112 or 15) so anything that isn't a true emergency is rejected, but writhing in agony and can't get meds might just do it. Fingers crossed for you both!

I was told by a neighbour who was a nurse who did home visits, that there are regulations that state that a town must have x number of nurses and x number of pharmacies depending on size, but there is no regulation stating that a town must have x number of doctors.

Has there been some sort of radical change with the reimbursement system from CPAM within the past few years, was a time when either of us were referred to a specialist that we paid, normally about 60€ at the consultation and some weeks later a credit was made to our bank, for a proportion of that amount. I have not received anything from CPAM for at least 2 years, possibly longer, yet as and when we do need specialist consultation we are still shelling out a reasonable amount. I did go to the local caisse a year or so ago, which was a total waste of time, they told me that it was because of our honairs or whatever they are called mounting up so no refund was applicable and the fault, if indeed there was one, had been caused my our mutuelle provider, not the case, as I receive regular payments from them. Is there any truth in this rumour that CPAM can only take a max of 50€ a year back from you??

@Bayleaf Another thing you could try is SOS Médecins. They would certainly be able to advise you, and could perhaps solve the prescription renewal problem.

Another thing you could do is book a face to face RDV through Doctolib but be prepared to travel. Getting some specialist RDVs in the Saint Malo area can be long but we've found if we are prepared to go to Rennes (about 50 minutes or more), it's much easier, and much quicker.

If you are regular visitor to the pharmacy to get prescription medications, then there is a charge going to the pharmacist (honoraires). It is not much but over time can mount up and result in a reduced or zero reimbursement from CPAM when you visit a doctor or specialist. We have had this some time ago. A check through our Ameli account revealed where the "missing" money had gone.
