OBR, the south-west of France, many photo's on the internet and also here, canals and autumn, so probably the grain silo at Moissac, along the Canal de Garonne,

Well done @RobertArthur - Just an observation but isn't this thread entitled "Guess" where? - Searching for similar images on Google seems not to be in the spirit of the game, but that's just me ;)

OBR, I only followed a traditional line of searching: checking your location in France, looking at your autumn reflections in canal waters, trying to identify your movements in the region, checking photo reports of tourists visiting the south-west and the canals there in combination with tourist information about the canals in France. Un moment donné: bingo. That's all, old school approach.

Now to somewhere else, if you allow me and not throw me out because of supposed cheating:

Paris?

Looks like the green highway that replaced the old railway line into La Bastille station.

@ Exile, correct. It is the Promenade plantée. From above street photography gets another dimension.

@ OBR, in my professional life I was not a cop, although I once had the pleasure to enlighten a specialised government agency about the search capabilities of the early internet search programs, Northern Light and several others.

Here's one on the Canal du Midi - but where?

@Oldblueraincoat
I look at most of the photos and haven't a clue where they are so there's no way I could "guess" where they are. I enjoy using google or other resources to see if I can find the location (not often successfully) but if you consider this is cheating, then I will be unable to participate. It's a shame because it's like using an encyclopedia - you learn a lot from it.
