It's just a case of the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Everybody has ADHD or Bipolar, never heard of in my youth, we all have to be put in a category nowadays.

Of course people ADHD Bipolar etc back then it just wasn’t diagnosed. Don’t forget the existence of the large mental hospital where people got dumped for abnormal behaviour never properly defined

They certainly existed then but weren't necessarily recognised. They are sometimes difficult to diagnose even today.

It can only be good that these conditions/illnesses are recognised and can be treated. Just because people haven't come across them personally doesn't mean they haven't always existed but were unrecognised. Some conditions have been brought about by more modern food additives though some azo dyes have been around for a very long time.
Remember when azo dyes/food colourings were recognised as a cause of hyperactivity in many children as well as having other harmful side effects ? Some have been banned but not before they caused a great deal of damage.

I think you have hit it on the head there Blaze, the advent of TV dinners as we called them has always been a factor to me with the emergence of all these woke conditions

Possibly an unwise term to describe what has become the first port of call to excuse bad behaviour.
Not everyone has the benefit of in depth medical education.

On the radio this morning there was a discussion about how the police regularly turn a blind eye to people smoking crack on the underground and elsewhere in public places "because they assume the perpetrator has mental issues" and arrest would serve no practical purpose. So the issues that some consider "woke" can make a person immune from obeying the law. Strange new world we live in.

I will say that some times medical conditions are used to excuse bad behaviour,poor parenting etc but this is far from the always being the case. Better diagnosis,understanding of conditions,recognition of milder conditions is also having an effect
As for the police ignoring drug usage,lack of numbers of officers,poor sentences etc will all play a part
