From Dartford to sweet dreams of heaven

#21 Post by Hotrodder »

I was never successful in catching the Stones live. I was a fan from about 1964 onwards but tickets were always scarce or the gigs were hundreds of miles away. A bit easier once I came to England but were always sold out before I could get a ticket. Once ticket sales were online the scalpers were buying up blocks of 100 and were sold out in less than a half hour. Sad really.
I did get lucky with a few other concerts. Eric Clapton, Hall and Oates, Tina Turner, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, Osibisa, The Carpenters (my friends), Eddie Harris (jazz sax), Dick Dale & the Deltones (West Coast surf music), Jimi Hendrix (Ile of Wight), Roxy Music, and probably a few more but I was too stoned at the time to remember.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
