Actually he cannot do that. He can pardon federal offences but he cannot pardon state offences - which this is. America? Complicated country.

Yes, he has indicated that. In addition to pardoning all those jailed for the assault on the White House on January 6th.

If Trump is elected, I think all laws and rules go out the window. He will do whatever he wants to do. He has so far and no one has stopped him. And the Republican party support every move he's made.

I do not believe he will sit one day in jail for this current trial. I hope to be wrong about this.

Await the appeal against the denial to appeal.
Await him stirring up his red neck thugs and the chaos that will result.
I don't think an appeal was denied. I think the defense were denied a motion to acquit charges.
Looks like you are right, although it was verbally announced last night by the BBC as they were making the first announcement of the conviction - journalistic wish thinking perhaps.

I guess it took someone like Trump to illustrate the downside to the American version of democracy. Previous presidents, even the bad ones, never made such a mockery of the system by exploiting its weaknesses.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
