Mr T throwing his rattle again
In a similar fashion (although hopefully not so violent) the UK public have seen the results of over a decade of Tory corruption, the results of Brexit, the lies and mismanagement of Covid under Boris. I'll bet my pension they will rush to vote for the same scum under that racist Trump fanboy Farage. The same foreign-owned media and rich manipulators pour money into slagging off Labour at every opportunity. There must be enough knuckle dragging racists in UK to get the votes, just like Trump had, twice.

That's a incredibly unrealistic comparison, Hotrodder ! The US leader's abuse of power and force is far and above anything we have seen in the UK.
In Britain, the police do not carry firearms except specially trained units. The police are answerable for their actions as individuals - there is no "blanket cover" and police officers can be identified by their collar number. Any perceived misdemeanour means they have to answer to the "police of police" (professional standards ?). Perhaps that exists in the US, I don't know.
But the real difference in policing in the UK and the US is that the UK police are taught to de-escalate any situation rather than go in with guns (literally) blazing. The idea of gunning someone down in cold blood would be (at the moment) unthinkable in Britain.

And then he has the audacity to criticise iran for clamping down on their people, not that iran shouldn't be criticised, but its a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. Lets hope that the US doesn't get that bad, but if it carries on I can imagine a civil war starting. Certainly an American friend of mine thinks so.

Blaze, +1 and +2:
I was only trying to illutstrate how this sort of thing transmits like a virus, consuming common sense wherever it lands. In the same way the rot started with Trump being elected, the same could happen if Farage gets elected. I believe most cops in the UK are there for the right reasons but we have seen how they close ranks when one or more of their kind are discovered breaking the rules. I have watched a cop consume a half size bottle of whiskey and immediately leaving the party to start his shift at the local nick. I was invited to a meeting at New Scotland Yard to help the authorities gather evidence about a large impromtu event that they wished to control and witnessed first hand how the upper levels had made up their minds before the first speaker was even heard.

Corruption, dictatorship and many of the malaises in society start at the top. Bad leadership engenders discontent but much as I dislike Farage, I would certainly not put him in the same category as the orange one. Farage does at least have a grain of intelligence and is of sound mind. I don't see Farage adding his name to a building, for example, the Farage & Tate Gallery!!
As far as ICE go, they are nothing more than poorly-trained, trigger-happy thugs poncing around in a uniform. Imagine the UK's Border Force kitted out in this way .... fortunately they are not armed.

I accept your point of view about Farage but having seen so many photos of him with the Trumpet absolutely beaming with delight at being in his presence and praising him at every opportunity I see him in a different light. Being more intelligent than Trump makes him even more dangerous if he is ever made PM.

As Will self said back in 2016 trump and Farage are both grubby little opertunitists.Hotrodder wrote: ↑Mon Jan 26, 2026 1:51 pm I accept your point of view about Farage but having seen so many photos of him with the Trumpet absolutely beaming with delight at being in his presence and praising him at every opportunity I see him in a different light. I am sorry to disagree Blaze but Farage and his cohorts have made it clear that they will be sending illegals back* within the first week. That sounds very Trumpesque and do any of us believe this could be done without a degree of heavy-handedness. I rather suspect the UK would end up with an ICE lookalike. Maybe not with guns but who knows.Blaze wrote: ↑Mon Jan 26, 2026 12:58 pm Corruption, dictatorship and many of the malaises in society start at the top.
