Yesterday late afternoon I put an ad for a large freezer on both Leboncoin and Marketplace, within minutes I thought, this is popular, I was and am still being inundated with still available enquiries from a sector of the community, all with one striking feature in common. I replied to the first couple and one has my address, but I cancelled his arrival due to the fact he was on his own apart from a sack barrow. This freezer is enormous, so the ad states two men and a van required. I am in a quandary now as to believing if any of these are genuine enquiries or some sort of mass scam.

I would never use marketplace - it's a scammer's paradise. You would hope that le bon coin protect the vendor somewhat, but who knows?

And still they keep coming all with names that appear to be some sort of cryptic anagram, one bloke said he exports freezers, presumably to Africa somewhere, sounds feasible, but I am very wary especially after having half my Koi nicked after a buyer came round.

We've never had a problem with Le Bon Coin but perhaps we've just been fortunate.
The Koi would have been an easier target being outside if access to your property was not well-secured. Thieves wouldn't know where to locate the freezer so perhaps there would be less risk.
It's understandable to feel uneasy.

Recently I have sold quite a few items on Leboncoin, and I have had to post them off, no problems, as yet getting payment and it doesn't cost me anything to send it.
