Sayings from childhood

With the nostalgia of memories, we got talking about sayings etc of our younger days, have you on here any special ones?

Heres a start.

Ones that must seem strange to the children nowadays:
Pull the chain. (When did you last see a toilet with a chain.)
Spend a penny. (Bit more expensive now.)

When I lived in Nottm/Derby some sayings were:-

That made me tabs laugh

When coming home was asked--- "Did you see any one there ask me for you?
On going to bed--- up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire.
Being from Hampshire when asked where are you from it was always.
"Oi be ampshir oi be, be oi ampshir be oi buggerie"

Mami's from Kent and a junction is --- a two went way.
a crossroads is --- a three went way.

Some great expressions there, some of which I recognise.
A bit like Michael86's granny, my mother would reply "shadow soup, hen and bread".

I was exposed to a lot of rhyming slang in London and saw reference recently to a 'titfer', which everyone used for hat (titfer tat). Men had Jimmy Riddles...

The one I found myself using to my own children (drove them mad) was when I was asked where something was, I'd reply 'up in Nelly's room'.

Also from Kent after meeting someone you haven't seen for a while:
"Ow's ya belly off fer spots?" I can't remember the response.

One of my step-dad's favourites that has been drilled into me "Your first loss is your best loss".
