Back to the point about the hypocrisy in France surrounding solar power...it is breathtaking! It's certainly kyboshed our plans to economise. As the summer bills were becoming nearly as bad as winter ones, thanks to watering requirements and running the pool pump, we'd figured out that 18m2 of panels and careful use of heures creuses would be worth every centime. Ha! Now the individual input to the grid has reached uneconomic levels ( for them), EDF are changing the heures creuses to daytime, wiping out the advantages for thousands if not hundreds of thousands of clients. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they don't take the opportunity to reduce HC whilst they're at it. Becoming increasingly sickened by the 'hand in glove' goings-on in this country

Isn't there a rumour that, in the UK, a proposal to charge for storage of energy provided by houses with solar panels?

A small piece of ground near me has had a number of large steel cabinets installed. I thought thay may be cloud storage but I have now found that they are energy storage units.
