That type is already on display in the Museum of Old and New Electronics, which is still not open to the general public. Below, in more detail, between seven apples, to keep the doctor away for the coming week.

And then there is a small analogue battery tester for the AA/AAA and coin battery family within arm's reach that is used almost daily together with a digital counterpart, last year its 25th birthday, a still very young and reliable Fluke 73 III multimeter.

A close friend back in 1966 had one of these. A have to say, it was a total "non-event". Barely a step up from the NSU Sport Prinz it replaced, but best of all was his Porshe 914. He was a bit of a nutter for German cars.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

In our classic cars theater the curtain opens: the Porsche 914.

A price slump for clasic cars, a risky investment? At the classic car show in Paris, the scene is intoxicated by millions in profits for rare models. But young car enthusiasts are turning their noses up at many former favourites, and some are facing a significant loss in value. Which is gradually becoming the prevailing opinion in the German motoring press. Decide for yourself what you would be willing to pay for it.

Switzerland where a few days after the Snow Polo World Cup and shortly before the traditional White Turf equestrian event, the exclusive winter sports resort of St. Moritz celebrated another highlight of the year on the last weekend in January: The I. C. E. – International Concours of Elegance - where select classic cars are presented on the frozen lake. Here a 1955 Ferrari 750 Monta in action. By the way, more than a car show.

Front left: the two-tone Talbot-Lago T150C SS Teardrop, this year's “Best in Show” winner.

Until now, we have occasionally seen some promotional photos and videos from Europe and the US. Now it's time to head further south, as far as Argentina. How was the Renault R4 presented there in the 1960s?

Interesting VWs in Bremen, the Classic Motorshow 2026: on rails and a rather special version for one of the first trackless tourist trains. A modified VW Beetle as the standard locomotive. From the mid-1950s onwards, it was used as the ‘Dune Express’ on the North Sea island of Norderney. That must have been an amazing experience for many children at the time, albeit a little more modest than the huge amusement parks of today. And yet, a day at the beach, the abundant sunlight, slightly salty sea breeze, a ride on that little train and then a whole day on the beach... fantastic, I'd sign up for that any day, wouldn't you?
