@ LIz, Abbaye de La Sauve-Majeure, in the village La Sauve, not too far away from Bordeaux?

@ Liz, from where I'm now it's only 1100 km to Bordeaux, so everything around Bordeaux (30 km) is close to Bordeaux, almost there.....please correct me if I'm wrong about this village.

@Liz @RobertArthur Well done a good team effort - :D La Sauve Majeure is 34kms from us and another 35 mins into central Bordeaux if the Rocade is running smoothly.

I had assumed abbey/monastery rather than church due to the size and mass of the building.
History thinking cap going on....
