Maybe I do not follow French politics enough, but my initial thought is "who?"

They're both well known - Ciotti is the hard man of Les Républicains and Pécresse is présidente of Ile-de-France. She's been a minister and govt spokeswoman. He's a hang-em, flog-em, deport-em devotee.

@Bayleaf - the party will surely have a say in what goes into the manifesto, but she's expressed the following:
End of 35-hr week.
Arming police municipale.
10% increase in all salaries...
Raising retirement age.
Fewer civil servants but more police and hospital staff....
More hours of French in schools.

Pretty standard fare from LR, but I'd expect a few tweaks before voting day to take account of the far-right mutters about folk with deep tans.

Money to come from old age social contributions .... I think this means people paying less into the pension pot but with the raising of retirement age to 65, perhaps it could balance out ....... ?
