Not gale damage but storm.
Picked tomatoes on monday, both outside and in the badly damaged pollytunnel, going to re cover it in the autumn.
Yesterday was barbeque day with the huge thunderstorm in the morning pm 30c
On looking for any ready toms this morning we found them all stricken by tomatoe blight, knew it could happen fast but thats the fastest ever.
Lost the lot.

Re: Gale damage
Our tomatoes last year were brilliant, tasty, not a sign of any blight. But this year, they are certainly suffering from lack of warmth and sun. Only the small ones had any real taste. Even the plum tomatoes were dull. All our veg seems to be a bit tasteless this year which is unusual but then the weather hasn't been very accommodating.Plenty of water but not nearly enough sun and warm weather.
