I think social media has a lot to answer for in the spread of false information. People pass on articles without checking if they are genuine and believe anything that comes from someone called "Dr ...." or "Prof ...."
The French would like their brioche and eat it. They would like to live in a civilised society with all the benefits but seem unwilling to accept that that may mean giving up some of their perceived liberties.

They love resorting to vandalism, destroying anything they feel is constraining their right to express themselves or their freedom to do as they like. Speed traps bear witness to this : if you don't like it, destroy it and it will go away. No thought about the irresponsible behaviour that brought about their installation ! Then there was the destruction and vandalism of shops in Paris when the Jilly Joneses and Black Bloc were having their fun. Innocent individuals trying to earn a living having their businesses destroyed overnight. Whilst this may not only apply to the French, there is a prevailing attitude of "Me First, I want it now even if I can't afford it" that means they are unable to look at the bigger picture and are unwilling to understand why various measures are brought in.

The endless whining about Macron and Macronism Who voted him in ? Who do they think would have acted any differently - I would imagine the scientific and medical advice would have been the same whoever was in government.
There are now articles about how the pass sanitaire is going to divide people, those who have been vaccinated and those who refuse. It's hard on those who for medical reasons cannot be vaccinated.

I love the French but ..... what a nation of râleurs (by their own admission) !

As I posted earlier on the other forum, I'm convinced that protesting is in the French genes.
They will walk the streets etc for any reason whilst over in the UK they just go down the pub have a drink and swear about things.

A fairly local British bar posted during the week that they were shut for a day because they were taking part in an anti Health Pass démonstration. I thought that that was odd because that’s just the sort of place I’d only go to if there were restrictions in place. Their concern was that the EU pass doesn’t accept U.K. vaccinations so they would loose a lot of trade during the summer from the second home owners who put a lot of money over the bar who would be banned from entry even if fully vaccinated.
