Outside socket with a switch?
Is there such a thing in France? just upgraded the rainwater collection pump to a "SP3 Karcher" but I have always had to activate the pump by plugging in or taking out the plug, I do have some spare waterproof plastic wall boxes so could bodge something up , ie supply into a switch then output to a socket for the pump, don't want to cut off the plug to wire direct to a switch, it would invalidate the 5yr warranty, so would prefer all in one, thanks. When I installed our pump I put a switch in line with the socket so I didn't have to plug and unplug every time.

No, switched sockets don't exist in France. You're expected to just plug and unplug.
If you use a switch like ajm mentions, you need to be sure it can carry the starting current of the pump motor ; a standard light switch (interior or exterior) is not sufficient.

I use one of the wireless switches which plug into the socket with the pump plugged into that.
That way, dependant on distance, I can operate the pump using the remote control.

It's also usefull when I'm working on horses 'leccy fence as I don't have to keep walking back to switch it on/off.Spectrum wrote: ↑Sat Jul 23, 2022 9:01 amThanks I like that idea as I could be thirty meters away, will have a look online thanks again.L Austin France wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 3:41 pm I use one of the wireless switches which plug into the socket with the pump plugged into that.

@L Austin France I'd like to pass that on to OH. I would be very grateful if you would tell me exactly what to look for - on Amazon.fr of course!

Look for Prises télécommandées like this https://www.amazon.fr/METRONIC-495043-S ... r=8-5&th=1
but make sure it'll work over the distance you want. Some have more powerfull radio signals than others.
Edit Just found this which looks like it might be a good'un https://www.amazon.fr/LoraTap-T%C3%A9l% ... C80&sr=8-4

B08L9GZVHQ type that in to amazon france search bar and you will see, I think, what you want, it looks as though the lid comes down and engulfs the plug, if you use one with a cranked outlet. There are many of these so called waterproof sockets around and sure enough if you don't have anything plugged in they may well be, but once you lift the face up and plug in then the lid won't close so it's not waterproof.
