Are the lights going out already?

My nose tells me that Nature will right the wrong and chuck down water to make up for the drought. Then we will all be beyyaching about the rain.

Yes - Switzerland is suffering too - after all the aforementioned Rhine is fed from the Swiss Alps and exits at Basel.

Looking out of the window, the Rhone looks like it still has some water - at least in these parts.

Of course we will see the reverse - El Niño & La Niña alternate and do affect our weather too.

It seems Mother Nature doesn't respect one of the three principles of the Revolution here in France, the Égalité, a more equal distribution of rainfall over the seasons. It's all or nothing these days:

Terrible. I presume a lot of fish died as a result of this.

Cooling fried brain cells is still a permitted use of water, I believe.

In1991, we were told by 2 farmers that there'd been a drought in our 1st commune for 18 months. That autumn the rains came. Our cellar was flooded, the River Vienne's banks burst at Aixe s/ Vienne and St. Yrieix was severely flooded too. Mitterand came to look for an afternoon before going off to spend the night with his current mistress.

Not sure why the story is saying British tourists only - as anyone in Spain will be under the same regime.
Nobody is going to be 'roasted' at 27, that's perfectly cool enough for anyone not forgettiing that the Spanish are well accustomed to their climate, it's certainly the lowest we ever go.

Sitting here right now in perfect comfort, 35 outside/28 in.

Have just read somewhere that the nuclear power plants are having to reduce output as the incoming cooling water is a bit too warm, so that may be one of the reasons :?: :?
