I used to hoover one of my cats using a full power Dyson. She absolutely loved it, rolled on her back so I could do her tummy. But my other 2 cats ran a mile when I got the cleaner out. I groomed them all regularly so that tended to reduce the hair on beds and furniture.

As daft as it sounds I find running a rubber glove the type with a rough bit on the palm does the trick on cushions & furniture - I brush it all into a lump then pick it off.

Our recue Griffon is crossed with what we think is a poodle & doesn't shed any hair.
Mind you the cat's another story

This thread id is extremely off-putting to those of us who don’t have cats or dogs!

Years ago we had a short-haired cat, no problem with hair, nor with budgies or a tortoise! Our sons later had goldfish and stick insects - my god, escaped stick insects get everywhere!

This is the old boy just back from the barbers . His hair is a bit curly & quite shiny.
