So sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she improves soon.

I've often wondered what gaspillage was all about.
A few days ago we went out to top up supplies but didn't want to go into the main shopping town (some distance) so shopped in a smaller much closer town. Ventured into a Casino supermarket we had never set foot in before. Excellent experience mainly because there were probably less than half a dozen people in the place and some of the items seemed reasonably priced. I noticed a "gaspillage" ? section at the back and went to have a look. I guessed that it was all the markdown stuff because of the haphazard way it was displayed and would have dipped in but sadly nothing was priced. It's a bit of a lottery even when things are on the main display shelves and the pricing ticket is missing or just flashing random characters. I have seen things looking old or mangled with only a few percent markdown in other shops so I wasn't tempted.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Freezer and fridge full, glad supermarkets are closing for a day.

Exile, cross fingers for your wife; I assume she is on hefty antibiotics which should sort things quickly even if she is a bit down in the meantime.

Thanks

She seems to be fine in herself but becomes very tired very quickly once the oxygen is switched off. She was sent 50 odd miles away for an MRI scan yesterday and today the medication has changed but there was no one around to discuss the MRI results. I think however that you are right and she will be on a quite hefty dose of antibiotics.

Exile - I’m sending best wishes to you and your wife. Have the most appropriate Christmas celebrate possible and once she has returned home enjoy your celebrations en famille.

Our local Super U has a small section for the cheapies, short date stuff, they take 30% off and that's it, and it's normally right on the date. After that I suspect it goes in the bin

Exile - wishing your other half a quick recovery and return home. I remember well the difficulty of breathing with Covid. That was the one thing that really threw me for a loop.

Wishing all of you a safe and happy Christmas.

Gorgeous day here with a high of 16 degrees and sunny. Couldn't ask for more.

Thanks @Lori

In fact she has no real problem breathing. In fact not really suffering at all - apart from hospital isolation and food. It is just that her O2 blood stats are very low.

That's great news @exile - I imagine now she'll need lots of rest and cosseting. Covid can leave you feeling tired for a while.
