///détende.avis.louons is my address in French.

///lied.lamps.nagging is my address in English.
Why are you telling us that?

Telling you what? Simply demonstrating, if you entered both above strings into the 3W site, that they both map to the same place - and are not just literal translations.

Anyone who uses the English three words to a location in France is as daft as someone using French three words to a site in UK. Though both work.

I suppose the problems might arise when you're busy having a heart attack and trying to explain to the centre de secours how to spell the English words. Especially if you don't know how to pronounce French letters (as it were). :lol:

No, the problem is much bigger than that the English words put into an App running in French will not give the location. Spelling mistakes have always been a problem with the system, there have been plenty of examples showing how a missing s can give a position thousands of miles from the actual location.

All my Amazon stuff seems to be delivered by Amazon’s own delivery service - it’s probably outsourced - and they are pretty good. They are linked to the Amazon web/app and when they are within 10 deliveries there is a real’ish time map showing the progress and time estimates and it’s spot on. It’s usually the same driver, who likes having a quick chat and always calls my mobile when approaching the house. Some of the Amazon marketplace deliveries are via la poste, which I never have a problem with. Very occasionally it’s via Chronopost/DPD, who are totally useless.

A lot depends on the size and weight of the parcel I think LaPoste have a limit on what they can carry, this package would have been OK for LaP but it would not have fitted in the letter box, have filled in an on-line form they have said they will speak to the driver :roll: so will wait and see.

@Spectrum

Yes and no. La Poste will not accept large packages but it seems will happily deliver to the door 24kg+ cat food in a very large box well outside their conditions of acceptance from a delivery accepted by Chronopost. I get at least one every week.

Its not what you know, its who you know, obviously you are a well known and liked customer, and with well fed cats, here we have a different postie every few weeks, not like the good old days. :lol:

Our posties too seem to change almost as fast as I change underwear - and before someone makes an unkind remark, that is daily! :D

Just an update, have had to fill in two Attestations for "Colis Prive" they have not found the parcels and they have informed Amazon, they suggested I E-mail Amazon and let them know, which I did. On returning from a weekly shop I had received a very nice reply from them, they will start their own investigation with "Colis Prive" and give them two days to find them, if not they will E-mail me on Friday to offer a full re-fund or re-order, I need the parts for a project so will re-order, hopefully with more luck, I have altered the address to include that it is a new Bungalow and the only new one in our area. 8-)
