Everyone OK this morning?

It blew an absolute hooley here in Finistere last night. Gusts of up to 140km/hr were forecast & they weren't wrong.
I went outside to check on the horses just before bedtime & could hardly stand up so, despite having battened down the hatches as best I could, I fully expected to see carnage when I woke up this morning.
Happily nothing at all damaged although early days as it's still kicking off.
Hope everyone else in the path of this storm was OK.

Glad you're okay, LAF (and the horses) - I think you probably had the worst of it down on lands end !
It's been very windy here with strong gusts and rain. It's still incredibly windy here now. I've just come back from Saint Malo and haven't seen any sings of damage, trees down etc .... fortunately.

Our hooley was fierce here too .. but I think we only reached in the 90s for gusts. The noise was tremendous tho with hail and/or rain mixed in at times with the tremendously strong winds.

As you say it is still blowing strongly ..

Very windy here with gusts at 80km. It was forecasted, so we secured everything outside as best we could. Same expected tomorrow. Possible storms today and tomorrow. So far, just a bit of rain, mixed with sunshine.

Yesterday''s shipping forecast had Force 11, one off a Hurricane, for Fitzroy. I did wonder how Brittany would get on.

Still heading our way and is just beginning to wind up. We aren't forecast to get 140kph though.

Hoping that everything that could move is now nailed down to something that cannot.

That reminds me of the Beaufort scale descriptions in our institutes guide.

A mix of downpours, strongs winds and sunny spells. Storm Mathis apparently? Don't think we'll be riding today - I'm not that brave!

tis a wee bit gusty round these here parts - according to the weather site we've got gusts of 95 kmph.

It's been alternating between hail and rain most of last night and so far today - every so often the sun pops out for a few minutes just to remind us of what we're missing.

I'm sick of this bloody rain though, it's been going on for what seems like months now - I'm thinking of putting in planning permission to turn the garden into a wildlife marshland habitat.
