That is the way of thing @L Austin France . Best bet is to find a spot towards the top of a climb - if you can of course. They are going slower and likely to be more spaced out. I managed 33 minutes of TdF a few years ago - plus of course arriving 4 hours early before they shut the roads and not being able to leave for the best part of another hour due to the crowds all doing the same thing.

Nope. Just the hiss of rain & mud splatting riders & 'bikes. Our farming neighbour had been up & down the road yesterday with his muck spreader leaving trails of mud & muck.
5 mins in the rain was enough for me. Can't imagine 190 km's of soggy misery.

Thing is, I'm not interested enough to spend hours in the rain waiting for what I could see on the tele from the comfort of my armchair.
