Everyone's invited to assemble in front of their Mairie Tomorrow

David Lisnard, President of the Association des maires de France (AMF) and Mayor of Cannes, has launched an appeal to mayors for a return to civil peace, calling on elected representatives and the general public to meet at noon on Monday in front of all the town halls across the country. The appeal follows the ram-car attack on the home of the mayor of L'Haÿ-les-Roses (Val-de-Marne) on Saturday night, which left the mayor of L'Haÿ-les-Roses homeless.


So if you hear sirens going off a noon tomorrow you know what it's all about.
I'll have to go because little'uns school is in the Mairie building, so if there's any trouble I'll be there to make sure she's safe.

Sadly I think some of the drivers behind the unrest know exactly what anarchy is.

Something of a conundrum in my village. It's shut on Mondays. Everything. Mairie, Resto, Bar, La Poste.....the only glimmer of life is the Presse Tabac so perhaps we'll all be congregating there?

An article in the local rag about our maire inviting the elected representatives & public to assemble in front of the mairie at mid-day today to show solidarity for other maires etc.
Dunno if anyone turned up but I'll no doubt hear something at boules this afternoon.

I heard the klaxon from my place about 1km outside the village. No idea on a gathering.
