Bank charges

I have a question that probably rates a new thread but it seems related to this one.
When I escaped the clutches of CA I signed up with the Banque Postale. Saved a tidy bit re: charges and gained a lot in convenience. I recall from somewhere that I am on a limit on cash withdrawals per day? or week? which has never been a problem but tomorrow I was planning to cover an expensive (to me anyway) car repair bill. Can I use their debit card for a €300 transaction? I assume there will be a limit but have no idea what it is.

On the CA website it tells you all your limits. Is it not the same with Banque Postale?

I pay 1 euro a month bank charges to CA plus an annual card fee of 42 euros. But when my husband died and I had to take his name off the account via the Notaire, the bank charged me 650 euros. Scandalous.

On this website it indicates you should be OK .. but the plafond can/does depend on the card you have from La Banq Postale ..

Thankyou Sue. The site makes it easy to figure out. I will hedge my bets on tomorrow's repair bill and take some cash. The devis is 6 cents below €300 so its a close thing. I have done a bit of mail order spending on parts recently. OH and I went food shopping this morning and her card was rejected in Lidl. Thankfully she also carries a UK bank card so we didn't have to resort to firearms.

A late update.

My card payment was rejected so it was a lucky thing I had cash in my pocket.
And then today I tried to buy a replacement lawnmower from Amazon. Payment rejected.

We are with HSBC and you can request an increase of your plafond online in your espace client OR via telephone. It can be for whatever period you think you will need it and set at whatever limit you think you need.

We've never had a problem getting the request approved. And it was rather high when we were renovating the house. They didn't have a problem making the adjustment and it was done in 24 hours.

Knowing the Banq Postale as I did as a customer for a short period a few years ago, I can state that it was, and possibly remains, a most odd establishment. They profess to be a 'Bank of the People', so I am not sure what or who they believe their clientele is ..
They were and still remain in my view simply a Post Office .. Banking as such is decidedly not their 'point fort'.
Their update overnight was tedious.
Their 'virement' limits were derisory.
Their website - and security - was cludgy beyond belief.

Of course I am sure it is much better now.
