80% of long covid sufferers develope pots.
Most research has been done in Australia but now the European research centre in Lille and one in the UK is looking into it.
Its been about for years but covid has highlighted it.
As with me if you have a very high immune system it hits hard.
At least I'm not in a wheelchair as is a neighbours daughter in the UK,
A head teacher its hit her hard and has been in a wheelchair for two years.
Not much help from the nhs . The neighbour is supporting her with her own uk pension.
In 2024 thats just how the uk has become.
Every day we thank our lucky stars that we came to France all those years ago, in the 35 years here its NEVER let us down.

We both had our annual mot in december with blood tests
Only thing which came up was that I probably drink too much wine.
All else 100% and the dr still consideres me to be 10 years below by birthdate.
As for the long covid/pots its my sinuses which are mainly affected, resulting in huge ringing ears, head aches, tooth aches, blocked nostrils, loss of ballance when getting up etc,etc.

Going back to it.
Just how many dr's can diagnose it even now.
To my mind its being treated the same as M.E. was years ago.
Both my lovely wife and two of her daughters went down with M.E. way back in start of 90s and all dr's did was treat it as yuppy flue.
Mami took two years to get over it with huge personal cost and her first daughter has not been able to work since, second even now has to be very careful.

There’s a consultant who deals with it locally to me, my colleague hadn’t had Covid when she developed it and was diagnosed fairly quickly.I certainly had cared for at least one patient with it way before Covid so it wasn’t unheard of and it was certainly on the list of differential diagnoses for those symptoms before it became so prevalent

I can't say it was the best year ever, but I don't expect to break any records on that front as old age is approaching so fast, and not alone!
I just hope that we can have our share of good times in 2024 and wish that for everyone here too.
