August 8, 1964, the Rolling Stones in the Netherlands, their first show outside the UK. Not a very long gig......No vivid colours, only black and white action....

Soundcheck, picture perfect, but.....no translation needed.

Message for Mick: everything is quit now.

Auction, yesterday.

Many other interesting items not for sale, a studio, a mixing desk with real analogue VU meters. Even the mini sized touch-screen computers, how to play with the different tracks, audio engineering for beginners, go to another unknown destination.

The final mix: could you do better? Feel free to try, last day of this exhibition: January, 21, 2024, countdown has begun. What was enough for Mick Jagger can still come in handy today: a paper notebook and a pen are enough to make some notes.

The Rolling Stones and art lovers, another chapter.

'I illustrate the band's set lists, sometimes Keith and Mick add little doodles, and they become works of art in their own right.' - Ronnie Wood.

Not for sale, not on the auction list, a nice set list on display in the museum.

A good friend here has a mixing desk similar to the once above. Gives me a headache just looking at it and the nest of cables I have to negotiate just to get near it. :?
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Beatles for sale, Rolling Stones not for sale: not under the hammer these 3D stage models.

Upscaling is the name of the game.

A real bridge.

Also impressive.

And even more impressive, live, from Dartford to Sweet Sounds Of Heaven.

The Rolling Stones at the Odeon, October 1964. Exeter memories.

And here in Folkestone, at the Odeon Cinema.

Whether it’s a photo reconstructed using AI techniques, or a genuine photograph taken a few years after this memorable meeting, I don’t know. But it’s certainly a nice snapshot of a now famous railway station. Another photo.

Platform 1 or 2? Platform 2, the clever AI/photoshop guys did some homework, but not enough.

There is I think, something staged about these photos.

Both photos show steam locomotives and yet Dartford received third rail electrification in the 1920sin the direction of London. You can see the third rail - clearer in the first shot than the second.

Electrification beyond to the Medway Towns took place before WW2. Trains from beyond (Dover or Ramsgate) would still be steam hauled but for two trains to be steam hauled at the time of these historic snaps does suggest staging.

That is not to say that they are fake or AI generated. Even in 1961, staging was quite possible. You will note that the clothing changes between the two shots and so probably taken on different days.

I think that's why my children keep nicking my music - not that they're "young"!
