Here we go again folks! The two semi-finals are done and dusted, so the biggy is Saturday night - for better or for worse!

Sweden is putting on a brilliant show, with great hosts. Obviously one elephant in the room that we're not allowed to talk about .... but other than that, I'll enjoy the music (!), some actually quite good. There are always the usual outrageous ones - we reckon they do it on purpose so they can be part of the show, but no way a winner, as they don't want to have the expense of being the host country!

I particularly like France's entry this year - a really powerful one for a change. Beautiful guy, amazing voice, and I love the way he toys with the camera(person!). And he has a full set of clothes on, which is a novelty - there's A LOT of flesh on show this year!



So, watch if you like - pull it to pieces, I ain't bovver-red - I'm just here for the Craic!

The fact that Israel are competing - and are also now through to the finals, surprise, surprise. In the rules no-one on stage is allowed to give any reference in lyrics/set/clothing to anything political, especially supporting Palestine, which somehow immediately makes them anti-semitic ( ).

Russia haven't been allowed to participate since his "beef" with Ukraine, but Israel (or actually the chief monster, who does not speak for his country) seems to have "some sort of 'old over 'em". Hence - the Israel entry was booed during rehearsals, but the booers were told off. It's tough to keep politics out of it, as we darned well know much of the voting is political.

But, like I say, I love music, so a night of light (in general) entertainment, flashy stage effects, and some very questionable outfits - why not?!

It's unfortunate when sportsmen or singers use their public exposure to voice political views but it seems difficult to prevent it. Israel was obliged to modify the original text of its song which alluded to the war but the original text has already had a lot of publicity.

I can't help feeling sympathetic for the sportsmen or artistes who don't politicise their sport/song but are excluded simply by being from the excluded country. A lot of work, training and sacrifices for nothing.

Yes, another beautiful voice - loved his group "Years and Years" - suitably shocking for some! Now he's going solo, best of luck to him! This is a strong start.

I understand why you make this point. Politics should have nothing to do with sport or music.

I am however conflicted. If people in the public eye say nothing, does that mean that wrongs - real or perceived - are seen as being OK?

I always liked that poem, it makes you think. Fear of reprisal, of getting involved ... that can happen in daily life. Can we condemn people for not stepping in, for example, break up a fight ? Many people are too frightened of the possible consequences, particularly if it became physical.

There are many in the public eye who take advantage of their position to do good (of course there are those who are quite the opposite). But, is a music or sports competition really the place to express political views ? There are plenty of other opportunities to stand up and be heard, particularly those in the public eye.

All of this could have been avoided if the powers that be took the tactical decision to keep you-know-who from participating this year. But who's the ultimate power working the lessor powers?

Hmm, this year's Europop Fest could be a right Sh*tfest.

Bravo Switzerland, They were up in my top three (obviously behind France!) fabulous song and brilliant stage act. Only other comment I have to make is, hmmm, there was definitely something fishy about the viewer votes for Israel, and I can't believe Nil Points from viewers for UK's Olly.

I'm going to pop Nemo's winning song (an outright clear favourite and winner) Amazing voice, and there were no magnetic boots involved, just an enviable core strength!
