That was more unusual and mainly down to one man and his supporters, though it could inspire others ... The people of the US don't take to the streets every time they disagree with something.

It's a bigger problem for voters this time: a triangular contest between the RN (Le Pen/Bardella), the Majorité Présidentielle (Macron/Attal) and Le Front Populaire (Allsorts, inc Mélanchon and his LFI). I'm still undecided, although I won't be voting RN under any circumstances.

Why? Isn't it a clear sign that people have had enough of being milked for the advantage of an elite few? That maybe this country needs to reevaluate the direction it seems to be taking under Macron? It's a great pity that the voyous play into the hands of the media by undermining the true message of these demonstrations.

Would it be different under any other government ? I agree with Mad, the choice is not going to be easy for voters and the outcome is unlikely to satisfy the population if they vote only in order to keep someone out. That is, if they bother to vote rather than spoiling or voting blanc.
The 3 horse race doesn't leave much choice for voters, but the lack of enthusiasm/confidence/support for the less extreme left or right (i.e. UMP) has left France in the situation it is now.
