My friends find it very amusing cos since searching my ancestry I have found a relative that was convicted with ANO of being a highway man - he was sent to Australia and eventually pardoned but wasn't allowed to return to Blighty. Very sad, especially since highway robbery has now been legalised and renamed Vehicle Excise Duty.
