SCOTS are taking up Vladimir Putin's offer to emigrate to Russia and escape the 'woke West' - with 17 applications in just 10 days, according to reports.

Moscow claims that 17 people have reached out to Russian diplomats in Britain looking to take advantage of Putin's fast-track residency permits.

The dictator recently changed the country's immigration laws to lure fed-up Westerners to his homeland in a bid to help them escape "destructive neo-liberal ideological attitudes", reports the Daily Mail.

He has ditched immigration quotas and language tests for any 'anti-woke' Brits wanting to move to Russia.

Putin claims the move is 'humanitarian aid' for Westerners who share his country's 'traditional Russian and spiritual moral values'.

Following Putin's announcement, 17 applications were filed to Russia's consulate-general in Edinburgh, according to Russian media, however the Kermlin-based Mash media firm has not indicated a number for the Russian embassy in London.

Tsarguard TV in Russia reported: "In the West, it seemed like they were just waiting for [Putin's] document to appear - in the first 10 days alone, 17 citizens of Foggy Albion [Britain] wanted to move to us.

"Tired of the liberal agenda - that's how everyone who contacted the Russian diplomatic mission explained their decision."

It comes as American couple Leo Lionel and Chantel Felice Haer emigrated to Russia from New York with their three children aged, 16, 14 and 11, reports The Mail.

Leo said: "Personally I want to thank your President Putin for allowing Russia to become a good place for families in this world climate.

"We intend to use this opportunity to benefit our family.

"I feel like I've been put in an arch of safety. And it's very important. Thank you so much."

Similarly Canadian dad Arend Feinstra and his wife, left their Ontario home and moved to Russia with their eight children.

He said: "We didn't feel safe with our children there and for the future.

"There's a lot of left-wing ideology, LGBTQ, trans, just a lot of things that we don't agree with they teach there now.

"We wanted to get away from that for our children.

"But also, for economic reasons, the farming has better opportunities. We felt that Russia was best."

Major-General Irina Volk of the Russian Interior Ministry said: "The desire to move to Russia for permanent residence arose against the background of the abolition of traditional moral and family values in American society, as well as the low level of education."

Welcome in Russia and would you be so kind as to sign here, no translation in English available, sorry, don't you worry, only a formality, you may keep the pencil.
