Bad weather in Eastern Europe ?

Fortunately nothing to do with France, but I read this today and decided to do some more research .....

I checked with Windfinder, one of the weather sites people round here use and looked at what Vienna would be having from tomorrow :

That looks like one hell of a lot of rain .....

It will have a bit of an effect on France. Apparently the vague de froid scheduled for the weekend is leaking down from N. Europe. Might kill off a few bugs :D

It's already leaked here. 10°C max. Tomorrow might be 1° warmer.

But it looks dreadful for those areas to the east. Thanks for the heads up @Blaze

..and above 1200 m a lot of snow and even avalanche warnings. Not the right moment to have a dam in a river as in Dresden where the other bridge (background) could collapse also. Constructed in the late sixties, reinforced concrete, very modern.

Let's ask the Romans how to build bridges. Nice one in Cordoba, built in the early 1st century BC across the Guadalquivir river.

It went down to 5 degrees here last night. It felt like there had been frost on my barefoot sunrise dog walk around the field this morning.
Don't ask why barefoot, its a long story.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

@ Hotrodder, let me guess, short story. You bought a second-hand car at the time whose chassis has now partially rusted through? Jacked up and then it suddenly came thundering down, on your now bare foot? Don't trust secondhand car salesmen, you knew it already I may suppose.

The BBC has picked up on this story with details of flood preparations in Poland, Czech republic and Austria.

Is this the storm known as Cyclone Boris causing all the problems. Seems logical!

Summertime, summertime in Austria,
where have you gone.....
In Dresden a race against time. Waiting for what the river Elbe receives from Poland and the Czech Republic. The river Moldau in Prague, from the Karlsbrücke. A video about 2002.

The Elbe is a long river - I worked in the harbour in Hamburg many moons ago and the Elbe was impressive even in "normal" times.
The Czechs are desperate to avoid a repeat of 2002 .... I've never been to Prague but would like to one day.
