Despite the odd issue, Fiat 500s are one of the more affordable vehicles in terms of repair costs. With the average running around £300, this puts them in a much better light compared to other popular vehicles on our roads.
I think the brand new one that my late mother had in the late 1960s cost about £500.

@ Niftyons, probably an import. First time registered in The Netherlands November 1975. By the way, in 1975 Fiat introduced the 126 and stopped the production of the cinquecento.

One Friday evening at seven Michel Hamers (from Hoevelaken, Netherlands) bid on a Corvette via eBay. ' The auction would close and I was quite late in bidding. A few minutes before seven, I was wrong again and decided to throw in another thousand dollars. Then I had it. Happy at first, then scared for a while. Because then you have to pay, and I realised that I really had bought a Corvette on eBay. Which was in America, in Pennsylvania.’ Together with his son Jeff he completely refurbished the bright red car, a process that took about two years in total.

Very smart; A C1 I think.
Have been tempted as I like the looks but the C2 seems the better buy, certainly improved braking.

Yes, a Chevrolet Corvette C1 from 1962. A restoration project carried out by a professional. Quote: " I'm in the damage repair business myself, so I know a lot about it, which makes a big difference. Besides, I just really enjoy doing it. I also have a lot of acquaintances who are good with cars, so if we ran into something we couldn't work out, there was always help nearby." ......" It also went with me to Italy once, when my son got married. Not all the way to Italy with the Corvette though. It went along on transport. It was wonderful to see my son driving it during his wedding. This car and that Italian landscape near a beautiful country house, it just matched."
