He really does have an inflated sense of his own self-importance. His incessant whinges about being at risk if he visits the UK are continuing to draw attention to himself and his family. The more he bangs on, the more likely it is that someone would take a pot shot just to shut him up ...
Of course he can bring his children to the UK, but he knows that his wife would not be welcomed with open arms. A qui la faute ?

As a member of the royal family, something he never requested, there will always be some nutter hell bent on taking him out, Mountbatten as an example many years ago. The question still abounds as to whether there was a massive conspiracy surrounding the death of his mother, so who does he fear the nutter or his own flesh and blood. Sure he looks more like Hewitt than any of his close family and that rumour is as old as he is, surely a simple DNA test would either prove or disprove that one, but perhaps it has already been done, hence the underlying dislike by his "father". I would imagine that the impending visit from our nearest and dearest ally, Mr Trump, will involve massive security, entailing costs to the taxpayer of a vast sum, no one moaning about that as yet, and is he really welcome, in the same vein as a previous comment about Meghan, and talking of previous comments, the fact that he chose to leave the UK for pastures new in the USA, somewhat familiar to those of us that chose a similar journey to France, but woe betide if the UK government suddenly decided that having made the choice to up sticks and leave the UK, then our pension rights were evaporated, you chose to leave so you choose to lose the pension, UK residents only, it could happen. I am not a royalist by any means but I do have a degree of sympathy, not a lot, I have not studied the background to the fall out, but somehow I get the feeling that bridges are trying to be made, unfortunately not by his "father" and stepmum.

Security is quite complicated : Some is paid for by the tax payer, and some privately by the monarch.
Prince Andrew stopped having state-funded security when he stopped Royal duties in 2019. Any protection he may have would be funded out of his own pocket. His daughters notched up huge bills until the privilege was taken away.

What Harry can't seem to hoist in is that even Princess Anne, who is an extremely hard-working Royal, doesn't have state-funded security protection except when when attending public engagements or performing official duties. Prince Edward and his family do not have 24/7 protection either.
The only people that have round-the-clock security protection are the King and Queen, and Prince William and his family.

Why does Harry think he and his family merit special treatment ?
His lost court case has given him yet another chance to air his grievances against the Royal family - yet he talks of wanting reconciliation. Until he eats some humble pie and stops blaming everyone else for his "problems" he's unlikely to be welcomed back to the family with open arms. It's time he took responsibility for his life instead of continuing to make a mess of it.
