Stunning Aurora last night

#1 Post by Blaze »

I didn't stay up long enough to have a chance of seeing it, but the Aurora was amazing last night in Brittany. This photo was taken by local photographer Rémi Lemenicier in Saint Malo :

Apparently there are good sightings again in the UK tonight. The sky near me is patchy with cloud. I have been out but there’s a lot of light pollution

After a lot of experimenting, I managed to get a shot out of the bathroom window. I had to use a tripod as it was a 20" exposure.

Slight haze over the northern horizon, so I got the camera out and it turned out to be ---

slight haze

Oh well, as I suggested we are too far south except in the most extreme circumstances. I did get a view last year.

In the words of Marvin. “I’ve seen it, it’s rubbish”. (spoilt by two years living in Hammerfest).
