Sorry basquesteve , even more confusion then, have you adopted them or sent them back? :?
I wasn't confused before, I was sure when I saw your costs that you had bought from a breeder, but I am now.

Apparently lots of employers do.
It's called a 'Contrat à durée indéterminée' – CDI :)

I'm still struggling with this Steve and I now think that you think that buying from a breeder is not adopting, right?
If I am right in that assumption, I can only imagine that you think adopting from a rescue association was so difficult as to be a waste of time.
And if that is the case, it sounds loud warning bells to me, because it means that the breeder was easier because he made no demands on your fitness to buy and keep safely his 'products'.
Needless to say, I would never buy/adopt from a breeder, unless he bred rare and endangered breeds and had impeccable references. In which case he would be a rare and endangered breed himself.
Sorry to sound critical, but seeing so much that is wrong with the dog world I am super critical.

We've just had a visit from ' Miss' of the SPA to check how Bob our rescue mutt is doing.
Lots of questions & checks of chip no. & vaccinations.
Needless to say Bob passed with flying colours & apparently we weren't too dusty either. :D

I know you mean well Spardo but give the guy a break !
I know from experience how difficult it can be for a dog lover to get past the initial 'rottweiler' at rescue centres.
Steve has said he's kept dogs for 28 years so I'd imagine he's knowledgeable enough to ask the right questions of a breeder. Whilst I would always try to find a rescue dog , if it's not possible, I'd not hesitate to buy one from a breeder if my life felt incomplete without a pooch companion I'd always had by my side.
It's not like Steve popped down the local boozer & bought a dog from some ner-do-well. He obviously did some due diligence before travelling that distance & paying out his hard earned dosh, so good luck to him & the lucky mutts who're going to spend their lives with him I say.

I quite agree
My niece works in a UK vet ,they had some people brought in a poorly puppy that didn’t make it. Basically they went to buy ,realised the seller was dodgy but still paid out to give it at least a chance. They took it straight to the vets but it was too late

Have you any children ? if so did any one check your address ,home, age, income, experience, intelligence other children, cats, dogs, criminal record before you were allowed If not, get off my back, I paid 2000 euros for two dogs instead of one because I did not wish to break there bond as brothers , In tge past I have had 3 dogs on the go do you think I will treat them badly people like you are one of the reasons I left the UK 25 years ago

PS Sorry Char a great site and great to see you well keep up the great photos but off again you fired me off once before but best to get away before you do it again see you in a few years time

Dunno what your history with Char was before but this debacle can't be a reason to leave this nice place.
