A bit of good news

The equipment used these days is amazing.
I've a hereditary heart problem which, undiagnosed, killed my old man at 65 & my MT recently suggested the precaution of an Echo Doppler control of my circulatory system to compliment the usual annual echography heart control.
I quickly got an appointment at a local medical centre for three visits , neck/head, body & legs, & am due the 2nd later today. (so far head fine)
The non evasive computerised equipment used with instant results was mind blowing to this Luddite, & obviously the result of much R&D over the years.

Vascular dementia is a little recognised consequence of some strokes. At the moment with thrombolysis and thrombectomy you do need a confirmed onset time ie a witnessed event,or someone confirmed seen fit and well in the time span

It seems that in her case it would not have been of benefit, is that so(?), as with the first one she could have been in that chair all night for all we know. She was fine when I spoke to her when I parked up at around 7 the previous day.

Without an onset time they won’t do it certainly on our stoke unit,it may well have not benefited her

Very apt, but today is world AVC day to bring the mini stroke problem into public notice.

Yes it’s World Stroke Day so there’s a lot of stuff about

It may also be worth defining ‘mini stroke ‘. What are some times refered to as mini strokes are often TIAs Transient Ischemic Attack. Causes problems but ( the clue is in the name) they don’t last If the symptoms don’t resolve then it is a full on stroke although it may not be severe A lot depends on where it occurs in the brain,cause etc
However we treat TIAs seriously as without treatment a lot of people go on to have full blown strokes

Being an artist she has writen,drawn a book on the problem to bring it into public eyes.
