I really thought this would be straightforward. It’s the Château de Verteuil in the Charente. It recently changed hands for the first time in rather a long time.

It is. I took this photo on my iPhone one evening while I was waiting for my daughter to arrive at the nearby airport. I’ve also got got lots of photos of the underneath taken when I’ve sailed through. I watched last year’s Tour de France as they crossed over. That was a lovely day but the riders were a bit too far away from my position at sea level.

[mention]DominicBest[/mention] It's a superb bridge, stunning views as you go over - a bit like the one to Oléron. My cousins bought a house on Ré many years ago and it's a great place to visit once the tourists have gone.
